All staff members are subject to rigorous and routine background checks. They are qualified and experienced in childcare provision. As a team, we are committed to fulfilling our mission as a day care provider:

At Precious Tulip Child Care and Learning Center our mission is to offer a warm, caring, clean and safe environment where children maximize their strengths and explore new horizons. Our precious children are encouraged to make discoveries that will help them build knowledge, cultural awareness and intellectual skills through our carefully designed and age specific curriculum.

Curriculum

Each child is unique and endowed with his or her interests, strengths and learning abilities. To accommodate this, our curriculum is structured and individualized to meet each child’s educational needs and learning styles. This individualized plan creates an opportunity for teachers and parents to work together to improve the educational results of each child. This is the cornerstone of a quality education for each child. Secondly, our low child to teacher ratio enables us to meet all the developmental milestone of each child. It is our goal to provide an environment in which children are encouraged to be creative, responsible and make good choices even at their tender age.

Our daily activities are structured to incorporate math and communication skills.

Our Curriculum covers all the key areas of learning. While we learn through play, we follow the Commonwealth of Virginia Early Child Framework. Learning is grouped into the following areas:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication
  • Physical development
  • Literacy
  • Expressive arts and design

Parents have the option to enroll their child in are full-time or part-time program which is available for infants through pre-kindergarten as well as before and after school care.

About our Staff

All our teachers meet the requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services Standards for Licensed Child Day Care Centers. Each teacher has an associate or bachelor degrees and have their current CPR and FIRST AID certifications. More importantly, they have years of experience with engaging and guiding children.

Meals

Mealtimes are important learning and social times for our precious children thus it is done with affection and love. Parents are required to provide children with packed food for school. Children sit in small groups and learn proper table manners with a member of staff. They are taught to use cutlery, serve themselves and clear their own tables after meals and table etiquettes. This exciting experience leaves children looking forward to meal times. PTCL provides healthy and nutritious snacks 2 to 3 times a day. Each week’s menu is displayed on the parents’ notice board. This helps parents to gain firsthand knowledge of foods to be served and hence, an opportunity for parents to alert teachers/caregivers of any allergic prone foods for their children just in time.

Facility and Safety

At PTCL, your child’s safety is of our utmost concern. Safety begins with our teachers and staff who go through intensive background checks and routine checks before and after they are offered the position at the center. Notwithstanding the high supervision of the staff and doors of the facility being under lock and key, there are routine fire drills that are performed in accordance to the Fire Department guidelines to ensure high sense of safety for children at all times.
